This book is a good introduction and a must-have for recent transplants to the area (such as myself!). The first section deals with the all-important (and extremely complicated) subject of climate. There are eight climatic sub-regions in the Pacific Northwest, each one with unique characteristics."Good Garden Culture" discusses the various types of soils in the region and how to improve them as well as tips on irrigation, mulching, and dealing with plant diseases and pests. The largest portion of the book is a plant directory (Perennials, Shrubs, Vines, Trees) that lists the best plants for the region. A photograph of every plant is included as well as a description and growing requirements. This is where the book will get you into trouble. Although many of the plants that grow here are common elsewhere in the United States, there are exciting temptations for the gardener here like Fuchsias, Cistus (Rock Rose), Grevillea, Choisya (Mexican Orange), Ceonothus (California Lilac), Manzanita (Arctostaphylos) and the list goes on.A final section covers design facets and features photos of many private gardens in the region. This book is a must-have for the Pacific Northwest gardener, full of valuable advice and highly recommended.

Perfect book to read over the winter season. It gives a nice overview of all the climate differences for the sub regions of the PNW and has a really great selection of plants for the garden. I like that it has a good chunk of the usual standbys but also quite a few unusual items that you might only see in collector gardens or specialty nurseries. My only tiny complaint is that the big garden shots don't list out the plants in the picture, but so far 90% of the time I stumble across them in the plant section anyway. Recommended!!

Writing is excellent as it is based on Paul Bonine's extensive observations on our regional climate and weather as they relate to gardening in the Pacific Northwest. He clearly explains conumdrums re:winter survivability-- for example, why some plants which can take cold temperatures do not thrive here. My only "complaint" is that I wish there was more of the book devoted to gardening methodology and not as much to the recommended plants, though that too would be excellent for a gardener not yet familiar with our wonderful regional plant palette.

This is a gorgeous guide to the best of the best plants for the Pacific Northwest. You’d be surprised how many garden books talk about plants but fail to include a picture. This guide has beautiful color photos for every recommended plant—hallelujah! Also, everything grows bigger than in the PNW, so plant tags are often inaccurate for our area. This guide contains more realistic guidelines for how big plants will get in our rainy climate. Highly recommended for the beginner gardener OR the experienced gardener, looking for the perfect addition to their mature garden.

This book is awesome! I bought it after reading a review in the Oregonian. I come from a PNW gardening family and learned a ton from this book. Probably the most helpful tip was to buy a traditional English style garden spade for my tough Willamette valley clay soil. How did I live my life without it?!Great selection of plants and a good section on different garden types (dry garden, Japanese, formal, etc.). We liked it so much we've bought copies as gifts for friends and coworkers.

This book is extremely informative and useful.

My "go to" quick reference guide! Absolutely great read, especially given that I am interested in drought resistant evergreens that can thrive in the PNW.

Lifelong plantsman and nursery owner Paul Bonine, and avid gardener, writer, and photographer Amy Campion, have collaborated in a masterpiece for our region. Whether you’re just starting out or have been gardening for decades, there is so much to learn in this well-written, and beautifully illustrated book. Like an experienced friend taking you by the hand, this book guides you through the challenging aspects of weather, soil, pests, diseases, and plant selection, so that you can confidently face what gardening really entails. If you’re plagued by wet clay soil or troubled by root weevil, anthracnose, verticillium wilt, slugs, or deer, practical and nontoxic solutions are offered. The section on plants will inspire you to try some new ones, and understand better what each one needs. Luscious close-ups will propel you to the nurseries. Flip through the section on Design: Northwest Garden Style to find specialty nurseries, public and private gardens to visit. “Gardening in the Pacific Northwest” is a gift to give yourself and gardening friends in this region.Barbara Blossom Ashmun

Much like my first review of the first book in this series, the author is doing a great job keeping me hooked! The story picks up right where the last book left off. Our MC gets another chance to restart and fix the error of his ways, or so he thinks. But starting over apparently cost him more than he or his allies might have expected. Great world-building and action. Also, the author appears to be laying the foundation for relationships; will our hero choose to pursue the good doctor or a fellow warrior? I'm looking forward to the next book and encourage readers to pick this one up. (And, if you were to look for my other reviews, I'm pretty free with criticism when books do a poor job.)

The ideas in this book are a fun story every time. I greatly enjoyed book 2, a continuation of both the main plot - as well as a fun introduction to concepts that give plot elements of the first book more meaning. This story is cumulative- in a good way - and book 3 will be interested based on what has been set up in books 1 & 2.Give this book a read if you enjoy science fiction elements, GameLit, and a protagonist who does his best to annoy his enemies to death.

A solid story continuing the the trials of Adam. I like the character development of all of the characters but in particularly Adam's. He is finally start to loose some of his selfishness but still a bit of a jerk. Very fast read without all of the errors you can find in many LITRPG novels. Can't wait to find out what happens next.

Could not finish it. This is really a grimdark story. The main antagonist are pure evil. The main character is a narcissist. I have enough drama in my life. I don't need to read about jerks being a jerk the whole time.

Another excellent book. Low on the rpg side of things but such a good story that you would be a fool to discount it because of that. I like the deliberate steps away from the expected.

Took the good parts of book one and grew upon it.was glad that there wasnt a huge repeat of book one, thought this one handled it well.

In time to where it all began. The first book was great, the second book is just as great. Good momentum, no explosive character growth like some LitRPG series. Real struggles that someone would go through, if they were caught up in an alien contest for world domination that is.

A great continuation that felt too short. One of those immersive books where you go, huh. It's over? Thinking I'll read them all when the next book comes out.

I gave "Heart of a Lion" 5 stars because:1. ... It captured my attention and interest immediately, in the first few pages; I read it in 2 sittings (literally) - I didn't want to stop reading;2. ... The plot and the characters were believable;3. ... The narrative descriptions made me feel as though I was right in themiddle if the story, a participant not just an observer;4. ... In my nearly 65 years of life I have had a number of experiences which I could identify with various experiences of several of the characters;5. ... I was impressed with the manner in which the characters, some more than others, interpreted their interaction with our Creator - it help me see new ways to understand old truths;6. ... I felt as though I had worshipped as I read "Heart of a Lion;"7. ... Also, as an aside, the grammar and story continuity were superb, causing no challenge to my being able to focus on what was happening in the story;I would recommend this book to anyone who might have ever wondered what it might have been like to live in the days before and just after the Flood. This novel is appropriate for teens through senior adults.Be prepared to laugh, cry, hold your breath and be amazed as you discover the "Heart of the Lion."

I generally enjoy historical fiction, but this book seemed to deviate too far from scripture. Often I found myself simply skimming pages just to finish the story. The author captures well the highs and lows of faith and lack thereof. I could feel the worry that Noah and his family felt, wondering, "are we crazy, have we heard God correctly?"But the inaccuracies were rampant:Scripture says that man was vegetarian before the flood, but the author has them eating meat.Genesis 6:9 says "Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God." But the author presents him as overcome by sexual temptation and unable to separate himself from lust. Can he support this idea? If not, don't mess with God's appraisal of the man. And certainly DO NOT imply that sexual immorality is the norm.I got tired of the author implying that sin came to "helpless men" besieged by immoral women. Sure there are immoral women, but God tells us that sin entered the world through one man - Romans 5:12. There is a dangerous tendency in men in some "Christian" circles to blame women for the sin of man, but God never says this nor treats women thusly.Galatians 3:28 English Standard Version (ESV)There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.I doubt I will read another book by the author.

I have always loved Gilbert Morris' novels which is why I bought this one. However, he did not hold up to his usual standard of excellence. When anyone attempts to write fiction based on a Biblical character, they need to be very careful to stick to what is Biblically accurate. As has been pointed out in other reviews, he had them eating meat before the flood. He also mentioned seeing lights that shone like the rainbow. How did they know what a rainbow looked like before the first rainbow occurred AFTER the flood. I also don't believe that there was rain and thunder storms before the flood. He told a good story which held my interest but after reading some of these inaccuracies I was disappointed. I will stick to reading his books that are historical fiction, but not based on Bible characters.

The author had a good plot, but seemed to be honing his writing skills as he wrote. The first part of the book contained strange similies such as a man belching like a frog that boomed. Also, the author had Noah eating meat, even though Genesis says only after the flood that animals would be good for eating. Also, he had Noah's son being born before he began the ark and one of them even in charge of engineering it. But the Bible says that Shem, the oldest, was 100 years old two years after the flood. Since Noah took 100 years to build the ark, Shem wasn't even born until two years after Noah began building it. Also, he talked about flat land at the bottom of the mountain with emerald grass, then said the land was rocky and mountainous.I did appreciate that he went into Noah preaching before the flood and life aboard the ark. I have read two other books about Noah and, though one was superbly written, neiter covered these two things.

Review

Nice guidebook for children, but I am betting that adults will learn a thing or two as well. This would be great as a preview of a trip to the nation's capitol for children. ~Barbara (Amazon Review)As an adult, I was amazed to learn things about Washington D.C. that I didn't know! :) That kinda surprised me, and now I want to vacation there, seriously!~Inky (Amazon Review)This book stimulates their curiosity to explore unique places like the National Cathedral and also fun places like the Zoo, as an example, one initially would not think of when visiting Washington DC.~Ute (Amazon Review)I love the idea of a travel guide that is written especially for children. It's great for kids to read in the car (with the Kindle edition) on the way to D.C., and once in DC, to look up fun facts about monuments, museums, and government buildings.~Heidi (Amazon Review)

The text is not aimed at small children, it is Wikipedia level text and the content is suited to those with comprehension level at Wiki text level. This book about Washington is similar to "amazing facts" series written by different authors that follow the same formula: stock photos for each national monument and description from Wikipedia about the given topic. This book has smaller pictures and longer descriptions compared to the other "amazing facts" books. The style of the book is not original, but information is interesting. I liked the larger amount of text as it was more educational, but it also raised the target rate of the children for whom this book would be the best match. The book covers the White House, the United States Capitol, the National Cathedral, the Arlington National Cemetery, the National Mall, the Washington Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, The National Museum of American History, the Bureaus of Engraving and Printing, Ford's Theater, the National Zoo, Washington DC Metro.Ali Julia review

Nice guidebook for children, but I am betting that adults will learn a thing or two as well. This would be great as a preview of a trip to the nation's capitol for children. While there is so much to see and do in Washington, DC, the author hits on the main points including the government buildings like the White House and Congress, the major memorials like Lincoln's and Jefferson's, and the wonderful museums that are part of the Smithsonian Institution like the Air and Space, and Natural History Museums. Everyone loves spending money so the section on The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is informative. We are coming up on the 150th Anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln this April, so I am glad Ford's Theater and the adjacent Petersen House where Lincoln died are included. Their exhibits are truly memorable. What would a trip to Washington, DC be like without a trip to The National Zoo with a glimpse of those adorable panda bears!I like the fact that the author provides photos and an outline of Fun Facts at the end of each section. She even includes some information about the metro system, which undoubtedly is the easiest way to get around the city. I highly recommend this guide for families who are planning a trip to Washington, DC. Children and adults will enjoy it.

Kids LOVE to travel! But even more, they LOVE to plan for a trip! This is a wonderful book to plan with the children or grandchildren a fun and at the same time an educational trip. They learn so much already in school about our Nation's Capital. But this book stimulates their curiosity to explore unique places like the National Cathedral and also fun places like the Zoo, as an example, one initially would not think of when visiting Washington DC.Can't wait for the next book of the series to share with my grandchildren! Well done, Teresa Mills!

I got this book when it was free because I wanted a Washington DC travel book and it has some interesting information in it.

I had the chance to read this to my 5 year old last night. She has learned plenty about Washington DC from board books and school, but not in much detail. The combination of real photos the fact that we got to read this on our iPad kept her attention more than I had expected. Some of the content was a bit advanced for 5, but it helped us have some good discussion as a result. Happy I picked this up.

KindaBoring and repetitive. Not a lot of engagement for a 7-12 yr old.

As an adult, I was amazed to learn things about Washington D.C. that I didn't know! :) That kinda surprised me, and now I want to vacation there, seriously.Passing along to nephew and his wife now... very cool! My nephew is really into numbers -- and he remembers lots of stats, I think he will love this (especially since they live on that side of our nation now)! Thanks!

This book is very uninspiring, even the black and white photos are not very clear. The front and back covers lead me to believe there would be a number of good photos to help our 8-year-old grandson be anxious for the trip. This book is pretty dry, and I would say above a typical 8-yr-old.

Professor Hofstadter sets the standard for the dissection of many facets of U.S. history. Here he tells the tale of the intertwining factors of American culture and politics that lead to prevalent anti-intellectualism. Although published in 1963, this remains the definitive work on the distrust of elites and experts and is sadly relevant to the present day. Hofstadter writes with a storyteller's style that does not skip or gloss over details but invites the reader to enjoy the experience of learning. He also often displays a wry sense of humor. If you want to understand why those most qualified to address issues -- whether they be foreign policy, law, running government, social sciences, etc. -- are often considered suspect sources of information while talking heads with no knowledge but loud voices are embraced, this book explains the framework for that culture. Personally, I found the writing so smooth and the subject so engrossing I could hardly take breaks between devouring the book.Hofstadter combines both painstaking detail and sweeping themes. I cannot imagine even the most learned people not learning new details about American history and the forces that have shaped our nation. Hofstadter's analysis is very persuasive -- analytical but with passion and new insights. Even events or people from American history that one knows about, one will be shown new perspectives. For example, one might not have considered how American democratic principles can encourage anti-intellectualism. Or how our economic system and intelligentsia themselves can sometimes encourage expertise and other times discourage it. It shouldn't need to be said that a Pulitzer Prize winning book is a must read, but I'll say it anyway.

Recent political development in this country, in which gossip, hearsay, "alternative facts," wishful thinking, invective, and shaming the intellectual class have become (again) coin of the realm at the highest levels of government all remind us that this is an enduring (though thankfully not always dominant) theme in our culture. Richard Hofstadter's 1964 masterwork thus points backward to the formation of these themes in American history, and points to the present and future with concern. People who worry about such things should definitely read this book, and the fact that it's now over 50 years old is of little consequence because of the way it helps us understand trends and events.

First, let me say what this book is not. It's not a book that can be understood only by deep and brilliant minds. The style is clear and readable, and anyone who can read and understand a newspaper editorial can understand what is said here. It's not a peevish rant about how everyone below a certain IQ level, or everyone of a certain political persuasion, or everyone who goes to church, must be mentally dull. The author goes out of his way to be fair and even-handed to all points of view, perhaps especially those with which he doesn't agree. Finally, even though it was published when John F. Kennedy was President, it is decidedly not out of date. In fact, anyone reading it will be amazed how the problems described here, from 50, 150, or even 200 years ago, may still crop up today. What is an intellectual? It is not necessarily someone with a genius-level IQ, or someone who speaks 5 languages, or even necessarily someone who discovers a new theory in physics. An intellectual is simply someone who takes the same pleasure in the exercise of his or her mind, in exploring ideas, as healthy and physically fit people do when they're out throwing a Frisbee or playing touch football. The pleasure is in the activity itself.Imagine a small child trying to see how many blocks she can stack up on top of each other before they fall. On the one hand, the child is playing--that is, doing something for no reason but that she enjoys it. On the other hand, she is perfectly serious and focused on her goal. If the stack of blocks falls down, she simply tries again. The intellectual is the person who shows this combination of play and seriousness towards ideas. To use the analogy of blocks again, the intellectual takes each block and turns it over to look at it from all sides, stacks the blocks up, arranges them in various shapes, and so forth.Of course this activity can have a serious purpose--e.g., thinking through the ethics of cloning--but to be a specifically intellectual pursuit, it must be done out of the love of the activity itself.America has often had a love-hate relationship with intellectualism, and still does today. Ironically, one of the ages that prized the intellect most was the Puritan era, because Puritans valued a learned ministry; after all, it was they who founded Harvard. Later, many of the Founding Fathers, such as Jefferson and Franklin, had wide intellectual interests, from philosophy, to science and the arts. Up to the middle of the 19th century, even many businessmen were cultured and well-educated--indeed, the goal of that day was to make one's fortune in trade and then retire at a relatively early age to a life of culture and philanthropy.Despite these notable periods of favor for the intellectual, it is equally true that something about American civilization has often worked against intellectualism. Part of it was that America, which began as pioneer settlements, always had to be very practical. Another aspect was the idea that cultured and educated elites were undemocratic--resentment of "the elites" didn't begin with today's Tea Party but was always an undercurrent of American life. A third aspect was that Americans tended to see the past as something dark and backward to be improved upon and then abandoned by American know-how and self-reliance.In politics, the Jeffersonian philosopher type went out with the age of Andrew Jackson. For the rest of the 19th century, intellectuals were mostly ineffectual reform types, criticizing from the sidelines, in magazine articles; they were not consulted in public life again until the turn of the 20th century. Their favor was high during the age of Wilson, perhaps even higher with Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Brain Trust," only to come under suspicion once more during the McCarthy era of the early 1950s.In business, the shift from trade to railroad building and, later, manufacturing, left the businessman less leisure for intellectual pursuits, nor was he particularly interested in having men work for him who were preoccupied with theory and speculation--enough education to read, write, and handle business math was satisfactory. In religion, the scholarly minister was replaced by the barely literate circuit rider, who rode the mountains and forests for miles to preach in log cabins to backwoods settlers. Later, it was felt that too much education might undermine religious faith, and we had the spectacle of the Scopes trial. Meanwhile, practical businessmen of that day didn't care to know about theological ideas so much as the idea of religion as a "power source" that could be turned on at will.Even literature and the arts suffered. America, unlike Europe, had no ruins of the Parthenon or medieval castles, nor did it have the same traditions of civilization. Artists and writers could certainly portray what they found here and did, but there was still a tension between merely celebrating this new land and achieving the critical distance with which the intellectual examines everything.Even education itself was not without its challenges. If you think that "the good old days" of education, when every child had 3 years of foreign language, 3 years of math, 3 years of science, and 2 years of U.S. history, lasted continuously until a couple of decades ago, read chapters 13 and 14 of this book, and they will startle you. In the name of progressive educational theories, traditional education underwent such radical changes beginning in 1910, culminating in the "life adjustment" movement of the 1940s and 1950s, that the U.S. Navy found that many of its World War II recruits required remedial math, and the president of Yale wrote, in 1954, about a high school graduate who seemed intelligent enough to attend Yale but whose high school transcript showed mostly electives in subjects like school choir, social adjustment, etc., with just a smattering of English, history, and the more traditional academic subjects.Hofstadter's final chapter addresses the tension between intellectuals who are willing to apply their knowledge and abilities to the service of institutions, including government and industry and those, on the other hand, who fear that they will "sell out" and be co-opted by conventional norms if they cooperate too much with society. Hofstadter was optimistic that it was possible for intellectuals to adopt a balanced outlook, cooperating with society and using their talents for its benefit, while always remaining independent-minded enough to apply their own original thinking to society's problems and not simply go along with the crowd.Hofstadter's untimely death from leukemia at 55, in 1970, certainly deprived America of one of her foremost thinkers. This book, one of about 6 major works that he wrote, is around 450 pages, arranged in chapters of about 30 pages apiece, with notes at the end of each chapter. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to understand how the world's most advanced society can sometimes seem, at the same time, to contain knuckleheads and dunces--some, unfortunately, in positions of power. Again, this is not new--the only question is how we will respond and what kind of society we wish to have.

Hofstadter's characterization of Eisenhower has some kind of low brow anti-intellectual is not accurate. When Ike attended war college graduate school he was first in his class. It is true that Ike was a person of enormous practical accomplishmentin the roles he played in WWII, NATO, and as President, but he was not an anti-intellectual by any means. Many people who say his election as president over Adlai Stevenson as anti-intellectualism, but later changed their minds in retrospect. People like Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.The Korean War was halted shortly after Ike was inaugurated as President, after 3 years of conflict and stalemate. Ike avoided getting involved in Vietnam and Indochina, and Ike's tenure was generally marked by progress in Civil Rights, relative peace and prosperity. This is in contrast with the prior 8 years and the subsequent 8 years. America did not fight the disastrous Vietnam War during the time Eisenhower was President. We will never know how Stevenson would have done in these areas had he been elected President.

I really liked the first installment... this one, not so much. I fell in love with Jude and Lucy in the first book so was excited for their story to continue. Unfortunately, as much as a piece of me enjoyed reading about their lives after the first book, I am left wondering whether the author should have just stopped with the first book. A plus was that you could still feel the chemistry between them at times. However, it really just fell flat for me overall. Too many of the situations seemed overly contrived, and I think the author could have put a bit more thought into them and the plot over all. The situation with the cheerleader that "gets in the way" is actually just more annoying than anything... and I actually found myself irritated with the author for her lack of research in this department. While I understand what the author was trying to do with the whole "spirit sister" thing, it just didn't make sense and was too unbelievable. This would never happen in a real-life situation. At most schools college cheerleaders are actually discouraged from even fraternizing with the players, much less doing their laundry. Which is just absurd. If would have been munch more believable had it been a "sorority big-sister" or team manager or something. The other thing that irritated me was Lucy's continued treatment of Jude. At times I felt that she really didn't deserve him... I think the author took this line in the plot too far. It was also no longer believable. I also wish that the author would have spent more time on their shared troubled past. This really could have been the major issue rather than the highly contrived, under-researched, and over-played pseudo-issues that seem to plague the couple needlessly. Overall, I'm disappointed because this could have been a great continuation of the story of two characters I fell in love with in book one... but alas, it ended up just falling short. But all the same, I will always love Lucy and Jude.

I'm writing a review of the entire trilogy, which I loved as a whole, because I think books 2 and 3 are significantly better than the first. No, these books are not contenders for the Pulitzer Prize, nor are they mind-twisters, brain-benders, educational, or breaking any literary boundaries. But they are FUN, passionate, sexy, and romantic. The second 2 books even contain some particularly insightful and meaningful observations about love and relationships (not to mention several hot sex scenes ;). As a jaded, cynical, overeducated, nearly-32-year-old woman who should probably be reading something more "intelligent" and advanced outside of work (booorrrriiiinngg), and who avoids sappy romance novels because they're unrealistic and contrary to pretty much everything I've experienced with men, this trilogy cut through my romance-raincloud and steel-encircled-heart-and-soul. The trilogy shows how both men and women can (and do) act stupidly even if they're head-over-heels in love and easily self-destruct a relationship, and there are also a multitude of outside factors that can rip through a relationship. Basically... all odds are against having an amazing relationship. BUT love CAN prevail if the man and woman accept this problem, want each other bad enough, and will constantly work at it. One of my favorite excerpts from the trilogy, and which sums up the main premise of the books, is:"You're letting the fairy tales you grew up with cloud your mind. Love isn't easy. Especially the really good kind. It's difficult, and you'll want to rip your hair out just as many days as you'll feel the wind at your back. . . . But it's worth it. It's worth fighting for. Don't let what isn't real blind you to what is. Life isn't perfect, we aren't perfect, so why should we expect love to be? . . . Love is what brings you together, Lucy. But it's the blood, sweat, and tears of hard work that keeps you together, . . . Love isn't just about flowers, candlelight, and romance, sweetheart. It's hard work, and trust, and tears, and misery. But at the end of each day, if you can still look at the person at your side and can't imagine anyone else you'd rather have there, the pain and heartache and the ups and downs of love are worth it."

Clash moves Lucy and Jude from the Highschool to the College scene. They are separated by a five hour drive and a canyon of relationship problems. All of the issues these two had in Crash, lack of trust, lots of temper, major jealousy...all still in effect and somewhat magnified in Clash.Jude is playing out his full ride football scholarship, hanging with fellow players and overly interested cheerleaders. While Lucy is balancing studies and dance and hoping to keep Jude's anger issues in check. When Jude is assigned a 'spirit sister' to make his campus life easier, it's Lucy who loses her cool and her trust in Jude.I've seen many comments from others about how unreasonably Lucy reacts to the things happening in Jude's life. She jumps to conclusions and does not put blind faith in Jude. I understand those points but Jude never really trusts Lucy either. If he did, he would have been more forthcoming and honest with her. I love Jude as a character, though he really needs to chill the hell out, but he's not without some pretty major faults in this edition of the Jude/ Lucy love saga. I love that he feels fiercely, be it love or anger.Lucy really is just a wreck. She has some fairly large life events happening and Jude complicates all of them for her. I thought many of her decisions were somewhat childish and based solely on fear. But other decisions she made were not without a healthy dose of thought. I can't fault her for those.Clash is another roller coaster ride, exactly what you would expect from these two love birds. You'll experience tears, anger, hate, love, sorrow...you name it. Clash is a heart-breaker of a novel. I enjoyed it and will continue with the series but am hoping for a big injection of maturity in the third installment.
