As for the corny headline...I couldn't help it!This book is great for the beginner as well as an experienced breeder.I'm not new to the world of breeding but I am new to the world of cat breeding. I'm a bit nerdy and this book satisfies the science part for me as well as giving me an easy read. It's written in a way that is incredibly educational without being a total textbook.It had a glossary in the back of terms you may not be familiar with, it's chapters are put together very well and you can look for specifics if you don't want to read the entire thing from front to back. It's easy to skip around.All in all this has been by far the most well done book on genetics that I've ever read! And yes, I've read a few!This is a must have in every breeders library!

There is a huge lack of cat genetic info in any of the veterinary textbooks I've read. This book is a must have for anyone breeding cats or studying them. The book is very informative without being too remedial, and covers anything you would want to know about cat genetics. Pricey, but no other book like this one. Other feline books often feature one chapter (if that) of genetics. This one is the only book you will ever need on the matter, and will explain how to get those coat colors out of your cats.

I really liked this book, it has a tremendous amount of information and very concise. However as an updated version, the lack of graphics makes this book difficult to follow. It would be a much better book if ANY graphics were included. For me the cost of this book is unacceptable due to the quality of the presentation of the information.

This is a technical book. Textbook like, with very up to date information on cat genetics. You need some basic genetics knowledge to get the most from this book. It has what I was looking for. Good reading to learn more about cat genetics for a breeder.

This is a highly regarded text book, the gold standard. I'm delighted to have it in my library. If you are a dedicated breeder, this is an excellent source of important genetic information! I highly recommend it!

I payed $84 for this 200 page paperback book.I was ripped off.The book is good,but no where near worth $84!!!

My wife and I went to see the film. After we saw it, I ordered the book from Amazon. I have read and read it several times since. It is extremely well done and the photographs are excellent and used appropriately. This is a story that, had it not been released as a witnessed based documentary, would never have been believed. It is a wonderful story that restores faith in the good that humans have within them. I want to thank all those who took part in the project and look forward to the release of the DVD.

Great story - would be good for children to read.

This is such a wonderful book! Even though it is basically a kids book, it can teach adults too. I had heard about this project, but I didn't realize that it was so involved and reached into other countries. It's also a such a coincidence that while the paper clip project was taking place the terrible events of 9/11/01 also happened. These events show that hate and terror are still being peddled by some people and must be fought at all cost. No matter what, even with all our differences people are really more alike than we are different. We need tolerance and understanding of each other more than ever.

Excellent account of one school making a difference. This is a topic everyone should learn about.

Many are specialists in a field. Bowden seems to have started in fitness and got to diet at some point. He keeps a humble position by combining his own wisdom with the knowledge of specialists in their field.The only somewhat negative aspect is the book's title and the layout: Do not be turned off by the photos. The book is full of pictures of retired people enjoying life whereas this book really addresses everyone at every age. Bowden himself writes that it is not about how long we live but that we live a healthy, happy life for as long as possible. Well written, easy and enjoyable to read. Makes perfect sense! I have this and many other of his books. Love the cook books too!

Jonny Bowden's writing technique is very smooth and easy to understand. Doesn't just leave you hanging in the words. He details the information down and explains what is and why, what should be and why, and what will be and why. Another really great additions to my health collection.

Excellent book. I've read many alternative health books.. this one explained different body systems and function very well. Would read other books by this author.

I checked this book out from the local library and felt it so useful as a life long reference, I ordered a copy from Amazon. Im so glad I did. I am currently studying Biochemistry in a PhD program, and can attest to its scientific soundness. I was also impressed at the accessible language he uses to describe sometimes complicated ideas. Everyone can benefit from this book and it's not too late to start investing in your health. I want to be a centenarian one day, and I feel well equipped to try my best with the help of this book. Seriously!

I found the book very creative and the 'place' was well described. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and I felt like some of the character elements were only plot devices with no other reason for existing. I was really excited about the idea of the book, it didn't live up to my hopes. This author has promise though and I hope he continues to hone his writing skill.

The writing style is... ...ummmâ€¦ ...adequate, and the story is slow to start. The coincidences that drive the plot are a little bit of a stretch. On the other hand, conceptually, the post-climate collapse world that it creates is phenomenal, and once things get going, it is genuinely original and quite good. In a world of endless sequels and derivatives, that's more than enough to make it worth a read.

The idea that much of humanity would be living on offshore oil rig-type structures is an interesting one, but the author never provides an explanation, much less a plausible science-based one, for how the world got into the state described. The past is revealed in glimpses.There are hardly any cisgender heterosexual characters and yet the world of the novel is hellishly overpopulated. It is unclear how a world in which most people are either gay or gender-fluid or both can produce so many children.It is a fun mirror of our own world that nearly all of the rich people are urban real estate owners, but not enough fun to keep the reader motivated. This is a tough book to slog through.

Sam J Miller has become a trusted go-to-author when I venture out of my literary bubble to sample genres I don't typically read--in this case, science fiction. In some ways, I suppose, I'm not therefore particularly qualified to review Blackfish City. But I'm giving it a go nonetheless.This is a story of exiles and brokenness--the kind of brokenness where the spirit enters. Indeed, the disease that afflicts many of the characters is known as the breaks. It is part redemption song and part jailbreak. Like the chaotic city where it is set, the novel's initial (deliberate) incoherence, which is really a rush of strange detail and invention, begins to resolve into something more familiar.In a nutshell, a strange woman with an orca familiar appears in the city and becomes the subject of much speculation and fear. People project on her their own conflicts and desires. She gradually assembles her chosen family in the midst of an outbreak of less-than-civil war between the "shareholders" (powerful, rich and shadowy figures who are the city's owners in every sense) and a female-led crime syndicate. The family then seeks to obtain its end (no spoliers) but is met with no shortage of abrupt and gruesome deaths (Miller is not afraid to kill off key and beloved characters!).Miller has invented here a merciless world, but with enough redemptive characters to give the bleakness a rest and leave room for hope. Although I thought the last portion meandered perhaps a bit too long after the jailbreak and some of the class and gender conflict hung a little heavy on the prose (hence no 5 stars), Miller's imagination left me breathless.

Blackfish City is an easily digestible novel because the material is exceptional and the pace is quick enough to captivate attention. I highly appreciate original fiction, and was apprehensive about the similarities to Phillip Pullmans "His Dark Materials", however, as the author delved further into specific topics (I don't want to spoil!) it was easier for me to separate the two. I noticed many reviews critiqued the editing, and I agree. Luckily, the need for a strong edit doesn't distract from this unique work. Despite the plethora of content and themes, there aren't too many loose ends. I hope the author continues to write in this universe, but if not, I'll definitely follow his spirited work.

I loved this book! Starts off with a number of different stories of different characters. Then the stories converge into a whole story. Some of the characters come together. Some die and come together anyway. And it all culminates in a glorious, chaotic, unexpected end. I found myself seeing the end approach without a clue as to how it was going to end. Then the felt so much like this was the only way it could have ended!

Blackfish City is a stylishly written novel with bright, clean, razor-edged prose and a vividly imagined, plausible near-future world. The stakes of the plot are high, and the novel packs quite an emotional heft to it. Miller particularly deserves credit for mostly managing the rare and delicate balancing act of having fundamentalist ideology as one big negative force in the plot but not failing to see fundamentalist characters as three-dimensional individuals with comprehensible human motivations.I do have one critique, though it's subtle enough that it took me days to put my finger on it. Without spoilering: psychographically targeted propaganda plays an important role in the worldbuilding. This is sharp, up-to-the-minute stuff. However, I realized that it made me just a little uneasy that, while the vast majority of the book is very much "Show, don't tell", that isn't true of this important social/plot point. As the readers, we're never suckered into falling temporarily for the fictional propaganda. And so there's just the slightest touch of "Well, at least we're too good to fall for that" that the sensitive reader can be left with.

Beautiful. Relevant. My heart wants this tale not just to be about a rallying cry for justice, about a story that is a catalyst for social change and upheaval to corrupt systems, the triumph of the just and the good, but for it to BE that catalyst, that rallying cry. Because while it is about our future, about a fantasy of a strange time that might almost come true or may never, it is also a story about us. It is the story of the fall of our civilization. Maybe the fall is necessary. But we have to land somewhere.

According to the title, the book is about AI...but it's about almost anything but AI. Yeah, it's a lot of interesting information, but it really is just dragging. I wanted to learn something about AI not all those other things. It's a downer. I still have a bit more to read, but i'm not so optimistic..

This book is excellent! In a very easy to absorb fashion, the book describes how artificial intelligence is used in our daily lives and what are the current limitations. It demystifies the term and makes it more concrete by explaining the algorithms and methodologies used by the modern AI systems. Most importantly this book shows that by knowing some basic math concepts one can come up with new applications of the AI algorithms. It reinsures that AI can be understood and applied by almost anyone. This book is great for anyone who is generally interested in the topic as well as for scientist, engineers, or businessmen who are interested in applying AI techniques in their work .

Great book, well written and explains how current AI works and what the societal issues are likely to be. It is done in a way that most educated people should find to be clear and sensible. The authors' goal is to give readers a background to be able to form intelligent views ot what the promise and potential problems of AI are. I think they have largely succeeded.

Artificial Intelligence has a broad spectrum. It starts with electro-mechanical thermostats that â€œknowâ€ how to regulate temperatures and ends with the â€œTuring Testâ€ postulating that the best test of whether a machine is intelligent is whether it can communicate as if it were a human being. So far, no computer program has ever passed the Turing Test --- nor, is it said, can half the real human beings on the planet!Authors Nick Polson and James Scott promise â€œa practical outlook on the emergence of AIâ€ across its spectrum from two perspectives:The first 5% of the book is an interesting recap of high-level AI topics. Alicia has good ideas. However, the "book" appears to be a "you pay for her advertising of her courses" . . . any referenced materials are accessed through buying her training courses. So, did purchase one of them and she is good at what she does, no doubt about it. Like any training, this is not a "get rich quick" idea and, unless you work the program, it becomes just another "chalk it up to experience" purchase.

The book gives enough to wet the appetite to prepare you for the sale of her course. There could've been more "How To" without giving away the farm. I understand the author is here to make money so I can't fault that. But I believe a tad bit more could've been disclosed. I don't recall the last time I read a book cover to cover in a 2 hour span. Overall a decent buy for $10. I've blown that on junk with no value. At least I have somewhat of a better idea and her YouTube videos help some too. Doesn't hurt that she is gorgeous so viewing the videos is a double win.

This book was very insightful. Alicia Cox paints a clear illustration of How she "Gets The Deed" to homes without putting any money down. Helping distressed sellers while reaping rewards is a "win-win" for everyone including lenders. If you are trying to build your Real estate empire, this book is a must have building block for success.

I found the information you provide valuable and cleared up a lot of misinformation. I found materials very easy to read and understand. I feel that you are providing a very good product. You provided example that are relevant and realistic. Well be taking training for success.

Good book and just kinda needs a little more specific info rather than examples of her experiences. It's clear throughout the book that the focus is on getting you to take her course which may be a good idea too....but I'm kind of on-the-fence about the approach
