For SAT preparation, I have always been trusting Barron’s products and so far they never let me down. To get admitted to great schools, one certainly needs to take not only general SAT, but also SAT 2 subject tests.I really like how this chemistry SAT book is divided into sections with examples and problems after each section. It makes studying really easy and nice. All the problems have explanation, which is perfect for students who want to study by themselves. Diagnostic tests are designed to show students how well are they doing so far and which part do they need to focus on more.Wise usage of this book ONLY, can guarantee a score of 800. It is very important to give yourself time and pace accordingly. If you start studying only a week or few days before the exam with insufficient chemistry knowledge, chances are, your scores will not be very impressive.
The practice tests are slightly harder then the actual sat subject test. The book helped a lot. It has every single topic you need to know summarized quickly. I knew nothing and learned everything from the book so I could get a high score.
I bought this book to see how much I have forgotten . I'm 77 with a BS in physics . I was surprised at how well I did ! This would be a great for studying before you take the SAT - it will help you know where your weak points are . I wish I had one of these when I was a 'kid' .
Overall, a useful review guide. Most beneficial for concepts that need reviewing. Explanations are inadequate for concepts that you have not been exposed to previously.
Helped prepare for Physics test. Had really challenging questions with clear solutions. The test was reflective of these problems
Not sure what the outcome will be but my son felt well prepared by using this book. As others have said, the actual test was easier.
Thorough explanation of all topics covered on the subject test. However, it may not be enough on it's own if your goal is to learn new material from it. I would recommend using this book for mainly review of knowledge you have already learned and for filling any gaps you may have. Also, I found the practice tests easier than the actual subject test.
