I apologize in advance: This is for the kindle version.It's not possible to leave a Kindle-specific review, but people like me, who want to buy the Kindle version, need to know just how awful the digital copy is. It's a shame, because the book itself if phenomenal (although from what I can see, edition 1 is better than edition 3).The mathematics in the Kindle version is impossible to read without a magnifying glass. I've posted two screenshots from Samsung Note 2 phone, and two screenshots from a Google Nexus 10. And, no, you can't increase the math fontsize. It's fixed.I'll let the screenshots speak for themselves. Now I'm going to see if I can get my money back.

Quantitative Finance and financial engineering are changing rapidly following the 2007-2008 events. The areas of valuation and hedging, risk management, financial derivatives design and management are changing rapidly. The focus is more on cost of trading and on proper management of basic derivatives products rather than on designing new exotic derivatives every few months. Proper management of basic derivatives when including credit risk, collateral and funding costs, among other issues, is more difficult than managing exotic derivatives without additional risks. In this sense a book explaining how the basic products work and how quantitative finance has evolved is much needed today. In this sense Prof. Kosowski's important update of the late Prof. Neftci classic title serves a double purpose: introduce a broad audience with minimal quantitative knowledge to the field of financial engineering and quantitative finance, and show what are today's challenges for the industry. Products are introduced explaining the financial ideas behind their design and are also described with numerical examples. The book starts with institutional aspects of derivative markets and cash flows engineering, and ends with the latest developments on valuation adjustments developed to include most post 2008 effects in valuation, covering an impressive range of topics in between in its 870+ pages. This is the type of eclectic book that is needed today to frame quantitative finance and financial engineering properly in the broad context of the post 2008 developments, and I recommend this book to my students when they ask me a general reference book on financial engineering.

Brooke and Luther Fedora trained at the Culinary Institute of America and worked in London and New York prior to opening the Horse and Hound Gastropub in Charlottesville, Virginia. In this book they feature 20 beer menus with five for each season with each season’s menus featuring that season’s fresh ingredients. Their discussions of beer styles and the principles of pairing beer food are a little skimpy but their beer selections for each meal are good and make sense for the particular meal. About 90% of their beer selections are widely available. The recipes are tasty, clearly written and easy to follow. While the book is attractively illustrated some of the photography is murky.

Let me start by saying how much I've loved this series, it's my favorite story/world of characters! I have great appreciation and respect for SJM, and have loved this journey!I mostly loved this conclusion, she tied up the loose ends, but it felt drawn out (nearly 1000 pages) to a slightly anti-climactic ending. There were some long unnecessary parts, and a LOT of repeating things (the inner monologues of certain characters..to whatever end, walked through the darkness together etc...).*SPOILERS- I don't feel that Lysandra would've lasted that long as Aelin. Rowan scented her as a shifter almost the moment they met, yet she's with an army of fae who can't tell a shifter's scent? Oh, and Aedion was unforgivably cruel to her.-I think Rowan could've helped a bit while Elide was saving Lorcan. His wind would've practically thrown them but he did nothing, then had enough power to protect an entire city from scorching steam.-Gavriel's sacrifice was unnecessary.-Aelin bringing a whole other army through portals at the last minute was far fetched.-why was it easier to beat Erawan and Maeve when 3 princes nearly killed them all previously.I still loved the book and nearly bawled at the sacrifice of the 13 😭. I love these characters, but would've liked a better epilogue that maybe showed where the years take them. There needs to be another book!

5 stars doesnt seem like enough. Doesnt do this wonderful, amazing book justice. The emotions I felt reading this book, man....it was anger, frustration, sadness, joy, amazement, shock, and love. Im truly sad that this series has ended, but I could not be happier about the ending. Sarah J Maas did an amazing job tying up every loose end we could think of. This is, and forever will be, one of my all time favorite series. Thank you for giving us this chance to experience this world!

I'm writing this at nearly a quarter past 1 AM, having just finished the book in one long, unbroken sitting and have more feels than I can process anytime soon. But I wanted to get all this down while it was still fresh in my mind, and in line with the overall impression the series has left me with.As someone who aspires to be an author, I know the struggle to juggle characters' development, flow of plot and organic, unhurried development of the world and its lore is a tumultuous one, regardless of what genre you write in. I can also safely say that it is a juggling act Sarah J. Maas has in her own ways performed to beautiful and lasting results.Young adult series are often overlooked or brushed off as being trope fodder for teenagers, despite some of the most acclaimed and memorable amongst them like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and A Series of Unfortunate Events gaining world-wide renown and even enjoying some of the better (and some of the not so great) efforts of cinematic adaptation. Part of what makes them and others like them some of the best and received to such popularity stems from not treating their target audience as young or naive, not sugarcoating or omitting the darker or more mature aspects of life and the worlds the stories create for themselves. The Throne of Glass series shares this trait, but expands on it in tandem with the way Maas works to create her characters and let them grow as much as the world around them unfolds and develops with the story in turn.While the first book did have some growing pains to it, from the second onward it was clear Maas knew what kind of story she wanted to tell and wasn't afraid of pouring as much humanity into her characters or lack thereof to craft it as best she could, and in a world packed with enough organic detail to see it as the living, breathing thing that it was. Aelin Galathynius is as much a strong, driven and cunning character as she is human, emotional and vulnerable, and falls into exactly none of the numerous tropes and literary pitfalls that can plague many female protagonists, especially in fantasy fiction. And she isn't the only one, Maas shows no qualms about filling her world with female powerhouses that could all viably headline their own sagas with ease, and even then she doesn't short the male characters at all in terms of their own intrigue and development in the short or longer term plot.This series has garnered a major following in the years since its initial release for good reason. While the romance angle is indeed a central aspect, the medieval era political struggles, fantasy action and magical combat have always been strong supporting aspects throughout each book as well. The characters feel real and their struggles genuine, the relationships they have with eachother reflecting bonds many readers can empathize with on many different levels. For me, it was a fantastic example of a series that took itself seriously but with enough awareness of its genre to let the characters be people and have fun with who they were instead of just being swallowed by their roles and the drama of the plots' darker aspects.These characters felt real, their stories and struggles felt like a proper series of adventures and the way they suffered and grew as people throughout the span of the series felt memorable and significant. This ending installment itself is a fitting and heartfelt example of that in its entirety, and without going into spoilers, any happy endings involved are as bittersweet as they are heartwarming for many of the characters in as many ways.I will miss this world, will miss these characters and can still easily see the potential for so much more that could lie ahead for them. Part of me hopes Maas will return to them sometime in the future, but even if that isn't the case this last installment stands as a testament to the series as a whole and a fitting conclusion to the adventure Maas began years ago with the story of a smart-tongued young assassin girl coming into a royal past she'd thought left far behind her. As an avid fantasy fiction fan, I heartily recommend this series to any and all comers, and can say that making it to this ending will be far from disappointing.

This Bible gets the mom of 5 stamp of approval! We have 5 boys ages 9 months to 8. This is our new bible for reading aloud. If you have only toddlers The Jesus Storybook Bible would be better. With our varied age groups this works best for us. This would be too difficult for my boys to read by themselves, but for reading aloud with mom - YES. The pictures are gorgeous. The text is as close to scripture as I have found. This is a big bible. We love it.

Let me just first start off by saying, this Bible is a CLASSIC and perfect in every way.I bought this bible for my fiance's son. He is 10, mother is not very religious but open to whatever her son wants. His father told me his son became curious when he went to church with a friend and wanted to know more. I brought out my 20 something year old version of this Bible. His father (a Catholic man, I was raised a southern Baptist but do not follow that anymore) looked through it and was blown away. I remember reading the stories when I was a child and looking at the pictures. So, he wanted to get his son a children's bible like this one.I didn't really go through it because it was a gift, but the only difference I noticed was that the cover was different than the 20 year old one, and the pictures were more vibrant, although that is probably just due to age. I am thinking about ordering a copy for myself and maybe every 10-20 years get a new one.I would %100 percent recommend.

Excellent!!! After examining several other versions, this is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a preview of this Bible online. So, I first tried a few other children's Bibles - and was sorely disappointed. This version provides a traditional, descriptive, account of classic Bible stories for children and adolescents older than 5 years. The stories are lengthy (several paragraphs (1-2 pages)) and are consistent with the KJV and NIV. IMHO, this is the best and only Children's Bible that you should order from Amazon or anywhere else.So, get this one. . . you won't be disappointed.

For a used book, published in 1965, its in wonderful condition. I am very pleased for the money spent.As to the content of this book, it covers major events and peoples in the Bible in a very truthful way. For each story, it quotes the book and the chapter of the Bible and enable parents or teachers to read more from the Bible themselves. It also quotes psalms and verses and allows young children to taste the wisdom and beauty of the Bible.As to the pictures.... Wa! That's all I can say. They are vivid and in details.This book is priceless. My grandson love this book above all other story books.

After searching for an accurate short-form illustrated story-book Bible, we finally chose "The Children's Bible". It has served us faithfully throughout the early years. We read this with our kids every night for at least 8 years. It is beat up. The cover is broken. Some pages are torn. Lots of tape. We will never part with this old book. It still brings back good memories. Soon, we will start reading it to our grandchildren.

My Sunday school is very excited over their new bibles with the colorful pictures. They needed a longer story to read with illustrations than their beginners bibles. These bibles fit the need.

I bought this for my son who has decided to rebel against the rest of the Atheist family and believe in God. What can you do? I figured he needs to know the stories and at least have some idea of what he is saying he believes in.At first glance, this bible has words that are simple enough for a 7 year old to understand and pictures to keep him engaged. I can't complain.

I had this book when I was a child, I remember the pictures and the way it was written. This is what I remember when I remember reading the Bible as a child.When my children were younger I got them a very simplistic "Bible stories" book that we would read at night. I had no idea just how popular that part of the day would become for them. I decided this Christmas to get them a more grown-up Bible book. After looking at many options this one simply stands out as being most true to the original scripture while presenting itself in an appealing and colorful way as to capture the minds of young children. I look forward to years and years of bedtime Bible reading with this classic.
